Dear Friends and supporters of Rotary, and ladies of SOS

The Rotary Club of Koh Samui extends warmest thanks for everyone who helped and supported us before and during Kids’ Weekend 2013, which ended when they boarded the 5pm ferry from Nathon. We all had a splendid time, with the benign weather addinMercy Kids weekend 1g to the enjoyment after such a prolonged period of rain.

Special thanks go to:

Ø Lorraine Clark who worked tirelessly to arrange all the venues and constantly liaised with them. She even found time to fill 37 ‘Goodie Bags’, ably assisted by Stuart Evans and family who added to ‘the Goodies’!

Ø Seatran for sponsoring the children’s ferry fares, which helped to reduce the total cost of transporting the children to and from Bangkok.

Ø Prana Resort, Bangrak for the wonderful Lebanese cuisine which was very new to them! They also enjoyed a splash in the sea for the first time in their lives.

Ø Imperial Boathouse, Choengmon for spMercy Kids weekend 2onsoring the accommodation and breakfast for the children and their chaperones and drivers.

Ø Bar ice, Chaweng for their hosting a visit to their Ice Room, much loved by the children, and Magician and Balloon show.

Ø Paul Watson and Bangkok Restaurant who threw a wonderful party, with visiting Todd Lavalle, musician and entertainer from Bangkok, who kept the children enthralled with his fluent Thai and jokes!

Ø New Star, Chaweng Noi for their beach BBQ and the chance for the children to enjoy beach games, though the sea was a little too rough for safety.Mercy kids weekend 5

Ø Aquapark, Chaweng who offered their lovely water park to the children. Sadly the brisk wind made the sea unsafe with the Red Flag flying. Perhaps another year!

Ø Samui Shamrock, Lamai who hosted the Christmas party, with a wonderful buffet, followed by ice cream in the next door ice cream parlour. The music and slide had the children singing along and dancing until it was time for Father Christmas to visit with a sack full of gifts.

Ø Four Seasons, Nathon, who provided many staff who entertained the children at Imperial Boathouse all of their final morning in Samui. There was an Art Competition with some wonderful pictures produced; beach games, and then a chance to paint plaster figures or small umbrellas.

Mercy kids weekend 4Playdoughland Thailand for their generous contribution of Playdough which will bring hours of enjoyment at the Mercy Centre!

Thanks too, go to everyone, led by Luxury Asia Lifestyles, Mambo Retreat and a kind philanthropist from Germany, who helped provide the funds which allowed us to bring the children here for the weekend. And also thanks for providing lovely wrapped gifts for Father Christmas to put in his sack, and throughout the weekend, snacks to keep them all going!

Kindest regards Yvonne, Juliette & Jane
