After a couple of weeks of rain I have realized that I have actually really enjoyed the cooler weather. It has been lovely to turn off the air con, wear smarter clothes, not sweat and have to drink five liters of water every day and be able to clean the house and do the garden for more than just a couple of the cooler hours during the day.
So today the sun is back and it’s too hot to do anything, it is even too hot to sit by my pool, something I thought I had missed out on during the wet weather. After half an hour with a glass of wine today I could feel my skin burning, I was drenched in sweat and came back into the house to the respite of my air-con.
When I moved to Samui eight years ago I enjoyed the heat, I am not sure if it is just me but it seems to be getting hotter every year and the whole joy of moving to sunnier climates to spend lazy hours around the pool now seems impossible, so my question is, what is there to do during the heat? Our two major shopping zones Central and the Wharf are not air-conditioned, the jellyfish news has scared me off the beach and walking in this weather, a love of mine, leaves me feeling as if I just did a work out in a sauna! Anybody out there have any tips on how to stay out of the hot Samui sun?
