Look into my eyes! Big Joke aims to keep the criminals out of Thailand with iris technology

Thailand’s chief of immigration has told the media that a system using iris recognition would be installed by the middle of next year.
The Thai police have been looking at the latest technology from Finland and plan to have a private company install the system, reported Channel 7 news.
Lt-Gen Surachate Hakparn said that the system would be faster and more efficient than other methods of inspecting arrivals.
He spoke of millions of people crossing Thailand’s land borders using border passes.
Criminals were taking advantage of this to enter Thailand illegally and commit crime.
