Luxury Samui hotel raided in international money laundering probe

Department of Special Investigation officers and Ministry of the Interior officials raided a luxury hotel in the south of Koh Samui yesterday in an international money laundering probe.
Some 100 million is believed to have been funneled through activities at the Oriental Lodge.

A company run by the Thai wife of one of the money laundering gang is believed to have acted as a front for the crime.
The Oriental Lodge was also found not to be operating with the required licenses and is being prosecuted separately for this.
