Major security breach as passenger with no ticket or ID boards Nok Air Flight to Bangkok

Yesterday a Nok Air flight was delayed for several hours after a man managed to slip on board undetected. The man, who was in his 40’s, managed to get onto a flight from Hat Yai to Bangkok with no ticket and no ID card. His presence was only detected when a passenger with a valid ticket and ID arrived at his seat to find it already occupied by a passenger who refused to give up the seat.
An air hostess tried to calm the confusion and asked the man to write down his name, but he refused pretending that he did not understand Thai, when the situation could not be resolved on board security guards were called in to escort the man from the plane.
Other passengers then expressed their concern that the man’s luggage could be on board the plane and demanded that all of the luggage be taken off and put through a security check to ensure their safety. About twenty passengers also demanded a change of flight having lost confidence in the safety and security of the 11.15 flight.
Several hours later the flight left Hua Hin, minus the twenty passengers who boarded other flights. The unknown passenger was escorted to a mental hospital but was later released. Pathee Sarasin, the Nok Air C.E.O tweeted that security would be stepped up on all Nok Air flights and this kind of security breach would not be allowed to happen again. However prior to his post one of the passengers had already reported the incident that drew a flood of negative comments about the lax security and the conduct of Nok Air.
