Man mistakes friend for wild boar and shoots him dead in Khao Sok

In the Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani province this weekend a hunting trip turned to disaster when one man mistook his friend for a pig and shot him dead. Somnuek Kamchu was out hunting for wild boar with his friend Witthaya Pat-in. The two men had camped in the park the night before, after a days hunting and got up early in the morning to resume their hunt. Somnuek told police that he led the hunt while his friend followed. When Somneuk saw movement in the bushes he assumed it was a while boar and opened fire, only to discover that he had in fact shot his friend and killed him.
According to report in the Morning News the police have said that the man will be prosecuted.
