Man shot dead outside Club Solo in Chaweng Koh Samui

This morning Friday 13th of February a man was shot dead outside the popular Bar Solo venue in Chaweng Koh Samui. Early reports suggest the victim is a Turkish national who got into a drunken altercation with a security guard; Eye witness reports suggest that the deceased pulled out a gun and threatened the security guard who shot back in self defense. The police found two guns, a 9mm and a .38 as well as a knife in the deceased man’s possession.
Local people have reported that the deceased was well known in Samui where he lived and ran several businesses, one local Thai news channel reported that the man was thought of as a local gangster in the area.
