Meteorological Dept warns of heavy rains and high tides this week

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert warning that Cyclone Roanu will bring heavy rains to most parts of Thailand and stir the Andaman Sea this week.
The North, Northeast, Central, East and upper part of the South will have a greater chance of heavy rains so villagers in those areas are being warned of possible dangers of the rainstorm, the department announced.
The cyclone will cause high tides in the Andaman Sea and the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand.
Sailors of small vessels are advised to remain ashore until May 26 and monitor weather conditions closely during the upcoming days since waves of up to three meters high might occur in the sea.
The department earlier issued an alert warning of adverse weather conditions in a number of provinces including Chiang Mai, Lampoon, Lampang, Uttaradit, Pitsanulok, Tak, Petchaboon, Loei, Chaiyapoom, Nakorn Ratchasima, Surin, Buriram, Srisaket, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Prachinburi, Sra Kaeo, Chonburi, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat.
