Midnight drama as crazed gunman tear-gassed in Udon house

Commandos and police arrested a crazed gunman who held his mother and wife hostage for several hours in a house in downtown Udon last night.
The drama happened after Woraphot (Tek) Kiriya, 37, assaulted his mother and wife and took them hostage earlier Monday evening at a house in Ban Jan sub-district, reports Daily News.
Finally to resolve the standoff commandos fired tear gas into the house.
The suspect was found cowering in the wardrobe of his mother’s bedroom.
The two women who were both injured were taken to hospital while Woraphot was detained on charges of assault and illegal imprisonment.
He was suspected of having used a gun though this could not initially be found. Police were searching for the weapon after the drama concluded at 2.35 am.
