Deputy Interior Minister Nipon Bunyamanee has urged related authorities to step up measures to reduce road accidents and promote road safety.

He made the remarks while presiding over a seminar on road safety in Khon Kaen province on Friday (October 25).
He said the number of Thai people killed in road accidents was more than 22,000 a year. What is more alarming is the total number of people killed in road accidents over the past 15 years is 400,000.
The ministry will promote a campaign on driving safety in all tambon, which will be implemented by the existing local road safety centres.
