Missing Danish man found washed up on Chumphon beach

A Danish man who had been missing for eleven days has been found washed up on a beach in Lamae district of Chumphon.
He was named as 69 year old Jinnik de Frei (name transliterated from Thai).
His clothed body was found on the shore at “Had Talee Ngam”. There was no ID on the body but there was a picture of a Thai woman.
This proved to be his wife Patthamaporn Chaisombat, 59, with whom he had lived in Thailand for the last 20 years.
She had reported him missing after he had left their Phuket home saying he was going to Koh Samui. She became concerned after all contact ceased with her husband.
Following the discovery of the body Patthamaporn confirmed his identity after a picture was sent to her.
She said that her husband had grown increasingly depressed recently as he was suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and skin cancer.
She believes he likely took his own life.
An autopsy is being conducted in Surat Thani though police in Lamae indicated that the likely cause of death was drowning.
