Monk arrested for selling fake magic amulets and buying cars with the proceeds

Phra Darkie, a magical monk, has been arrested in front of the monastic centre in Maha Sarakham and charged with fraud. The arrest came about after several complaints from people who had been swindled into buying ‘magic amulets’. The local people who had paid for the ‘magical amulets’ only to later discover the items did not possess magical powers, were too afraid to file legal charges against the monk, however the police stepped when they discovered the monk had used the proceeds from his sales of ‘magical amulets’ to buy three cars for his own personal use.
The police investigation uncovered that Phra Darkie had told locals that with his powers he was able to transform normal stones into Lek Lai, precious amulet that, it is believed, can protect the owner from bullets, knives and even bombs.
Phra Darkie has agreed to leave the monkhood but say she will fight the charges laid against him, he maintains he has not swindled anybody.
