More Chinese investors showing interest in Thai infrastructural projects

Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong has revealed that more Chinese businessmen are showing interest to invest in Thailand.
Mr. Apirak’s comment came after his visit to Beijing from January 29th to 30th to discuss investment opportunities and incentives in Thailand with Chinese investors. His visit was in line with the Thai government’s policy to promote 2016 as the year of investment. He added that Chinese investors expressed interest in the 10 major industries that the Thai government wanted to promote.
Apart from individual investors, ‘China Investment Corporation’, which has a total asset of 740 billion US dollars worldwide, has also shown interest in investing in the construction of basic infrastructure in Thailand for a long term capital gain.
The Finance Minister said the expansion of Chinese investments in Thailand will be beneficial to the economy and help promote the country as a hub of investment in ASEAN.
