More heavy rains in South and cooler temperatures in Bangkok and other regions this week

The southern region will face more heavy to very heavy rains, while the northern region will become colder and Bangkok will experience cool temperature this week, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department Monday.
The weather forecaster said over the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains will be expected in six provinces in the South. They are Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
It warned people living in these provinces to be on alert as accumulated rain water could trigger flashflood and massive flooding. Danger from landslides and mudslides are also warned.
For the Gulf of Thailand, the weather forecaster said 2-3 metres high waves are expected in the Gulf from Surat Thani down.
Small boats should be remained at shore, it said while cautioning sailing in the sea by bigger fishing boats.
In the upper region, the weather forecaster said temperature will drop 2-4 degrees Celsius in the northeastern region, while the northern, central and eastern region will fall 1-3 degrees Celsius.
For Bangkok, a drop of 1-2 degrees Celsius and strong winds will be expected with lowest temperatures declining to 22-23C.
