More hugs and wais as Thai honesty and police helpfulness confirmed

Tears of joy and hugs and wais were the order of the day yesterday as a Brazilian tourist got her money back – all 100,000 baht of it.
Paula Spindler had left the cash in two envelopes on the counter at a mini mart in Samut Songkhram.
But sales lady Pornpailin Seesot noticed it and alerted the authorities who contacted the thankful Brazilian in Krabi.

Yesterday at Suvanabhumi Airport the head of the tourist police Maj-Gen Theerayuth, JS 100 Radio executives and the press turned up for the big “hand over”.
Mum Paula expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the honesty of Thais while the large police banner said it all:
“Thai Police – Service from the Heart – We’ll get your money back”.
Thaivisa notes that the high profile media event will be a shock to those that believe such stories are merely conspiracies staged to improve the country’s image after negative press.
