Mystery surrounds the abduction of an Australian man in Pattaya

On Monday morning at the Jomtien Park Villas in Soi 17 two security guards witnessed five men all wearing balaclavas attacking Australian Wayne Schneider in front of his house and bundling him inside a Black Toyota Vigo Pick up. They say that they believe the man was unconscious when he was taken away at around 5am and that they had tried to approach the scene but claim they were threatened with gun by one of the abductors. When police later arrived at the scene they found a pool of blood next to a Casio watch, tape, a sponge, three 9mm bullets and an extendable baton.
Police are now searching for a fellow Australian who is said to be part of the five man gang involved in the incident. Friends of the victims have reportedly said they could think of no motivation for the abduction, however the Sydney Morning Herald have published that he may have been an ex Hells Angels member. The whereabouts of the victim and his abductors are currently unknown. CCTV footage of the estate and the surrounding area is being examined for possible clues.
The Pattaya Police and the Tourist Police met on Monday to discuss this high priority case.
