National Lottery: More than 1 billion baht in unclaimed prizes in last decade

The national lottery office has revealed that Thais have failed to claim prizes amounting to 1.4 billion baht from 2009 to 2019.

Winners have 2 years to claim prizes before the money becomes the property of the state.
Daily News reported that many Thais were just focusing on the 2 and 3 digit winners and the top prize.
Prizes for second to sixth are often going unclaimed as winners tear up their tickets in disgust before tossing them away.
Players of the lottery have been urged to check their tickets carefully especially in the 10,000 baht prize category of which many of the winnings were unclaimed.
