New electricity price from Nov to reflect true cost

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is to make adjustments to the electricity pricing structure effective from November to reflect the true cost of supply, with the retail price reduced by 0.015 baht per unit, an ERC spokesman says.
The ERC spokesman Viraphol Jirapraditkul announced that the ERC has agreed to adjust the 2015 electricity pricing range effective from November 2015 for the wholesale and retail pricing structure, covering the Float time (Ft) price calculation formula, the reimbursement of income between each electricity authority, and the investment management direction plan.
The new pricing range will combine the existing base electricity price with the Ft value for May – April, causing the retail electricity price to be 3.7556 baht per unit, 0.015 baht less that the current price.
The ERC spokesman says that the pricing reduction reflects a revision of the income goal of each electricity authority, and the adjustment to the investment plan, which helps reflect the true manufacturing costs.
