A new Thai dining experience in Koh Samui

An exciting new way to dine has arrived in Koh Samui, The Thai Experience in Lamai.
‘The Thai Experience’ is a dining experience like no other and will require you to forget everything you now about going out to dinner. This experience is the perfect introduction to the best of Thai cuisine and also of Thai culture and is a ‘must try’ activity for those arriving on our shores who wish to embark upon a culinary and cultural exploration.
The Thai Experience has been brought to Samui by a team who bring new meaning to the term ‘dinner party’. Building on the success of their closed door restaurant in Argentina this energetic and enthusiastic team of dining enthusiasts have now opened their doors in the tropical surroundings of Koh Samui to offer visitors to our island the chance to be introduced to the incredible cuisine Thailand is famous for. As well as an introduction to food here diners will meet fellow travelers, drink some of the finest cocktails available on the island and learn a little bit about Thailand’s amazing culture.
The evening begins with a friendly greeting were you are handed a tropical cocktail welcome drink and introduced to everybody before being seated around a large communal dining table within the stylish surroundings of the restaurant. Chef hats and Thai aprons are provided and then it is time to get the evening off to bang by sampling some delicious, beautifully prepared and presented cocktails such as Me Lychee Long Time, Electric Blue Gin Cocktail and Samui Sunrise Passion Fruit Cocktail. After sampling the mouthwatering delights of blended infused spirits and syrups with tropical fruits, guests then go on to recreate the drinks themselves after a short demonstration of course. Much fun is had and the banter starts as everybody gets to grips with the ingredients and individual measures, cocktail shakers and fresh fruit garnishes. Moctails that are equally delicious are available for those who do not wish to indulge in alcohol.
With the appetite whetted it is then time to embark on a gastronomical journey of discovery .This, the ultimate dinner party consists of a three course fifteen dish meal that has been lovingly created by both Thai and foreign chefs. Along the way you will learn how to mix and blend Thai condiments to create perfect dipping sauces and be given the opportunity to quiz the team on any aspects of Thai dining or culture that you have not yet had chance to fathom.
So what is on the menu? Well on the starter menu you will find a selection of dishes such as Fresh crab won ton sandwiches s, Glass noodle salad (Yam Wun Sen Thai-viche – a modern Thai take on a Peruvian cerviche) and Pork salad (Nam Tok Moo). From here you will take trip into street food and sample dishes such as Chicken Cashew skewers and marinated pork belly. The main menu offers a fresh seafood medley and dishes such as Slow cooked Pork Leg Stew (Khao Khaa Mu), Prawn Stir Fried (Plaa Goong) and Green Curry with Vegetables (Kaen Keao Waan). The delectable dessert menu offers taste sensations such as Thai Tea Tres Leche, Papaya Shots and Sticky Rice with Mango.
During the dining experience the team of expat guides and English speaking locals will entertain you and offer advice and recommendations that will certainly enhance your trip to Thailand. The Thai experience is ideal for newcomers to Thailand and those wishing go home with a solid understanding of Thai cuisine, culture and a few more friends to add to their Christmas card list.
