On Friday at Suvarnabhumi Airport police arrested a Nigerian man after an x-ray revealed he had 495 gm of cocaine in his stomach with a street value of two million baht.

Mamadou Dioulde Diallo, 30, had flown from Ehtiopia to Thailand but when he was asked to go through security checks because officials thought he was acting suspiciously said chief of the Customs Department’s investigative division, Paisarn Chuenjit. Diallo told investigators that he played for a football club in Nigeria and had agreed to smuggle drugs for a Nigerian businessman because his mother is sick and his profession does not pay well enough.

The police charged the man with possession of illegal drugs and drug smuggling. He was taken to Narcotics Supression Bureau headquarters for further proceedings
