Norwegian arrested for carrying ammunition at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Norwegian Mr. Heggem Simen Oliver was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Wednesday after a routine X-ray showed two bullets hidden inside is luggage. The man, who is a new recruit of the Norwegian Police Service, had travelled from Oslo to Bangkok on a Thai Airways flight and was about to board a connecting flight to Phuket when he was detained. The told the arresting officers he did not realize the 9mm bullets were in his bag. He now faces a maximum punishment of two years in jail and a fine of 8,000 baht. The Norwegian embassy are assisting Mr Heggem in this case.
