Oil slicks hit Ban Khao Tao and Pran Buri beaches

Oil slicks from Mae Klong and Tha Chine river estuaries continue to be swept into beaches in Ban Khao Tao in Hua Hin district and Pran Buri district of Phrachuab Khiri.
Officials of Pran Buri national park lodged a complaint with district police today (Friday) after oil slicks struck beaches in the national park extending about one kilometer long. Oil patches are also floating in the sea off the beaches.
Park chief Somsak Krithathon said that the park’s shoreline characteristic made it vulnerable to floating garbage and oil slicks being swept on shore.
Officials from the park and from Paknam Pran tambon administration organization have mobilized workers to help clean up the beaches.
Mean While, Oil slicks also found in Ban Khao Tao in Hua Hin streching about two kilometers long.
