2 New Cases, 0 Deaths-Covid-19 Update (June 21) | Samui Times

Today, there has been two new cases of Covid-19 in Thailand over the last 48 hours and no new deaths reported.

The new patient is reportedly a returnee from Bahrain and was found to test positive while in state quarantine.

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration said the sin new case was a six-year-old boy who returned to the country from South Africa with his mother. They are under state quarantine in Chon Buri, where the boy tested positive for the virus but the mother did not.

As of today, Thailand has reached 27 days without a domestic case, according to the CCSA Facebook page.

If the Kingdom reaches 28 days, experts may consider deeming the nation infection-free.

Total cases in Thailand since the outbreak are 3,148 – 3,018 patients have recovered and been discharged, 71 patients are undergoing treatments in hospitals, while 58 have died.
