Operators hiring children aged 15-18 must report employment to labor inspectors

The Department of Labor Protection and Welfare has instructed all operators to report any employment of child labor aged between 15-18 to labor inspectors within 15 days after beginning work.
Labor Protection and Welfare Department Director-General Sumate Mahosot disclosed that the Labor Protection Act 1998 prohibits employers from hiring children under 15. For the employment of children aged 15-18, employers must report such employments to the labor inspectors within 15 days. Failure to comply will result in a criminal offense.
However, children are still allowed to help out their family businesses, as this type of employment is not considered a crime.
