Over 500 Thai & foreign cyclists to join Ayutthaya rally

Hundreds of local and foreign cyclists will be joining an upcoming international rally in Ayutthaya province.
Ayutthaya provincial tourism and sports office disclosed that over 500 cyclists from 42 countries had accepted the province’s invitation to partake in the activity which is scheduled to take place during May 2-4.
The bikers will tomorrow be riding on a 100-kilometer route around Ayutthaya Island, passing ancient sites and well-known tourist spots. They will also be warmly greeted by elephants from Ayutthaya Elephant Camp.
The cycling rally is one of tourism activities which Ayutthaya provincial tourism and sports office expects to help push up the province’s visitor number by at least 10 percent. The number of tourists last year was recorded at 6.2 million. A budget of more than 100 million baht has recently been approved for the construction of four bicycle lanes.
