Party goers and tourism operators bank on the army relaxing the curfew for next full moon party

In Koh Phangan Tourism operators and party goers are banking on the army relaxing the curfew imposed under the military coup to be relaxed for the nee Full Moon Part that is set for June 12th.
On Sunday, the president of the Tourism Promotion Association of Koh Phangan, Wannee Thaipanich, said that a letter had been sent to the Surat Thani Army district, by the group, asking for the party to be held all night.
She said that that party date had been set in advance and that the party could be ruined for tourist who had arranged their travel plans around the party date. She went on to say that the association was confident that the curfew would be eased for this popular event as operators strive to revive the tourism industry.
Currently the entire country is under a curfew from midnight to 4am, although there is little evidence that there is a curfew in place in Koh Samui that is operating as normal.
The Full Moon Part, held on Haad Rin beach, has traditionally gone on until dawn. This hugely popular gathering draws tourists from neighboring countries and from every corner of the globe as well as from Koh Samui.
According to Mrs Wannee foreigners who enjoy hanging out on the island at night have complained about the curfew that is forcing them back to their hotel rooms early.
