Twenty four leading members of the Peoples Democratic Reform Committee, including Suthep Thaugsuban, were released on bail at 11 am today, Monday 26th March.

Suthep, along with ten other leaders were let from a military camp to the Office of the Attorney General to face charge of insurrection. 14 other leaders reported in themselves to face the charge.

suthep releasedSixteen of the leaders were required to post bail of Bt100,000, others were not required to post assets as a guarantee.

In the meantime the King has appointed the army chief as junta head. According to a royal command seen by AFP on Monday this is “To restore peace and order in the country and for sake of unity, the king appointed General Prayut Chan-O-Cha as head of the National Council of Peace and Order to run the country,”

Reports also suggest that former Prime Minister Yingluck has been released from a military camp.
