Phuket migrant worker gives birth in car

Rescue workers from Srisoonthorn Municipality and Kusoldhram arrived to Soi Koh Kaew 24 off Thepkrassatri Rd after they were notified at 6pm that there was a woman inside a vehicle ready to give birth.
Upon arrival rescue workers found a pregnant woman, named as Ms Keothong Somthaly, 27, from Laos lying on the back seat of a Toyota Vios in the course of giving birth. They rushed to assist Ms Keothong and helped deliver a healthy baby boy.
Ms Keothong and her baby were later transferred to Vachira Hospital.
Ms Keothong said that she was due to give birth in December, but while she heading to town to do some errands with her family she felt labour pains.
“When we got to the soi we called police and rescue workers for help,” she said.
