Phuket Police are currently looking for a group of teenagers who they believe are responsible for set firing to a motorbike behind the fresh market in Talad Neua last night (Mar 2) leaving the motorbike totally destroyed.
arson PhuketLt Col Chana Suthimas from Phuket City Police was called at 11:30pm to investigate an incident where a motorbike had been set on fire behind the municipality market in Soi Sangdamrong.

Police arrived at the scene with one fire truck to find fire consuming a white Honda Click. Fire fighters were able to put out the blaze in 15 minutes before it spread to nearby homes.

Lt Col Chana explained, “The motorbike was so burnt that we could not even make out the licence plate number so we are not sure who the owner is, and nobody has reported a bike of this description as stolen.
“However, residents in the area said that prior to the incident they saw four or five teenagers hanging out in the area. One of the boys set the motorbike on fire then they all ran away. Residents came to try to put the fire out but it was out of control so they call police,” he said.

“Forensic police are gathering all evidence from the scene and we will check CCTV in the area to find the suspects and bring them in for questioning,” he added.
