Phuket senior, 72, takes last breath in short time motel

Investigations Police Captain, Ms Pornthip Chumsri, today responded to an alert that an elderly man had passed away at a short time motel in Phuket Town.
Ms Pornthip met Kusoldham emergency response volunteers at the motel, located on Komapat Rd of Muang District’s Tambon Talad Yai.
In room number 20, with its door wide open, police found the lifeless corpse of an elderly man lying on the bed, wearing only a bright pink towel and with his legs spread wide open.
Also in the room was woman, whose name has been withheld, and who was in a state of shock.
The deceased was identified as Mr Samart Utasaha, 72 of Rawai.
His clothes were hung neatly at the foot of the bed, and investigators did not find any signs of a struggle.
Near the bed, Police did find an open package of pharmaceuticals, which they said “resembed Viagra”.
A motel staffer told police that the deceased and the girl had checked in the motel at 10.30am this morning at a rate of B100 for a two hour visit, but at around 11am, the female guest had alerted staff to call for help because her fellow guest was suffering a heart attack.
The corpse has been transported to Wachira Hospital for further investigation.
