Plane skids off the runway at Trang airport

A Nok air Boeing 737 plane skidded off the runway at Trang Airport on Tuesday 6th of August. The reason for the incident, in which none of the 142 passengers were hurt, was a wet runway caused by torrential rain.
Visibility at the airport at 5.25pm, the time the plane was due to take off, was very poor. The pilots has already initiated take off but decided to abandon the plan at the last minute when they realized it would be unsafe due to the weather conditions. In order to abandon the take off the pilots needed more space and turned towards the eastern runway close to the Trang-Palean road. The plane then skidded off the runway. Once the safety of the passengers was affirmed buses were sent to transport them to nearby Nakhon Si Thammarat and Hat Yai airports where they all took alternative flights to Bangkok and landed safely.
