In a bid to boost tourism and drive the economy Thailand is moving to grant multiple entry visas to visitors from all countries. According to the Tourism Minister Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has given the go ahead to the proposal which could go ahead sixty days after Cabinet approval.

Citizens of around 40 countries can currently enter Thailand without a visa, however some nationals are required to pay an entry fee on arrival for a 30 day visa. The new scheme would allow visitors to purchase multiple entry visas for a period of six months at a cost of around Bt5,000.
