Police arrest 9 foreign nationals for gambling | Samui Times

Police raided a house on the Pratamnuck Road in South Pattaya in the early hours of Sunday morning and arrested nine foreign nationals for gambling. The illegal casino was hosting a poker game where players were playing for money, a direct contravention of Thailand’s Anti-Gambling laws.

The organizer of the game was identified as Canadian Matthew Greynom age 35. Other poker players arrested were Canadian Monica Lee, 47, US Citizens Mark Neddleman,67, and Brian Thomas, 46, British Citizen Craig Daniel, 25, Frank De Busscher, 73, from Belgium and Australian Mark Picheslberger, aged 40.  The Cambodian croupier and hostess were also arrested.

The police seized 107,000 baht, US $ 1,771 and 380 Euros as well as casino chips, a computer notebook and a bank book. The arrested were charged and are now awaiting court dates.
