Police arrest Thai woman found with 210 million baht worth of drugs in her car

A 51 year old woman is in custody after being caught with an estimated 210 million baht with of drugs stashed in her car.
On Tuesday, Chumphon police told reporters how they had stopped Mrs Siripan Chatraweewong at a roadside checkpoint in the Pathiu area of the province on Sunday.
Originally Mrs Siripan told police that she was travelling to Hat Yai from Bangkok, where she had bought some clothes which she intended to sell.
Daily News reports how police became suspicious of Mrs Siripan when no clothes were found inside her Toyota Camry car.
Upon closer inspection of the vehicle, police found a secret compartment in the rear bumper of the car. Stashed inside the compartment were 680,000 yaba pills and 5kgs of crystal meth.
According to Daily News, Mrs Siripan allegedly confessed to transporting the drugs, saying she had been paid 300,000 baht to transport the drugs from Chiang Mai to Hat Yai, and that she completed the same trip on two previous occasions.
