Police in Phuket believe they have found the body of kidnapped Russian

Police in Phuket believe they have found the body of Alexey Slabinskiy, who went missing after being kidnapped along with his girlfriend three weeks ago. Provincial Police Commander Ong-art Phiwruangnont told the Phuket Gazette “we learned that the Russian suspects Oleksandr Boychuck 44 and Alexkandra Novichkov 58 had rented a house in Soi Koktandoe in Cherng Talay. We dispatched 40 officers and specially trained police sniffer dogs brought in from Nakhon Si Thammarat to search the area. At 1pm today I received a report that the body of a foreign male had been found in the lagoon close to the suspects house. We believe it is the body of Mr. Salbinskiy, as the sniffer dogs found the remains while searching the area using the scent from Mr. Salbinskiy’s belongings.
The gruesome discovery was made after Mr. Slabinskiy’s sister, Tatiana Novoselova and her husband Sergie Luklanov put up a 500,000 baht reward for information leading to the arrest of Mr Boychuk and Mr Novichkov. An additional 100,000 baht was offered to whoever found her brother.
Mr Slabinskiy disappeared on the 7th of March along with his girlfriend after calling relatives in Russia asking for money and later to tell them they had been kidnapped. Ms. Strizheus was later discovered injured in a hotel room.
