Police probe mysterious murder of a South Korean

The national deputy police chief, Pol Gen Chalermkiat Srivorakhan, visited the crime scene in Chaiyaphum’s Bumnetnarong district where the body of a Korean national was found in bushes by a rural roadside.
The victim, identified as 23-year old Lee Jae-hun, was believed to be dead 12 hours before his body was found in bushes of a roadside in Ban Krathum Phra, Tambon Ban Tarn.
Mr Lee, said the police, arrived in Thailand on December 11 and he was due to return to South Korea on December 14.
The motive of the victim’s murder remains unknown but police checked CCTV footages along the route where the victim boarded a taxi from Suvarnabhumi international airport until he arrived at Khao Sarn road.
Police also contacted the South Korean embassy in Bangkok for the victim’s background which might be helpful in determining the motive of the murder.
