Police searching for the mother of a new born baby abandoned in Phuket

Last night the police were searching for the mother of a newborn baby who was found in the back of a pickup truck in front of a luxury resort in Phuket. The baby, who still had the umbilical cord attached weighs 3.2 kilograms.
Deputy Superintendent Jakkawat Boontaweekulsawat said that the baby is being cared for at the Vachira Phuket Hospital.
The baby was discovered by hotel staff member Anchalee Singsoon, 39 who found the baby in the back of her pickup truck after she arrived at the Dream Sea Pool Villa Resort at around 10.30pm. She told reporters that she had parked up in front of the resort and had not go very far from the vehicle when she heard a lot of dogs barking around the truck. She went back to the vehicle to find out what was upsetting the dogs and was amazed to find a baby in the back of the truck. The baby had been wrapped in a towel and placed in a black rubbish bag.
