Polish man found dead with his throat slashed – suicide suspected

Late on Friday night in the bathroom of a luxury hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 23 in Bangkok a Polish national was found dead with a severe wound to his throat.
The 42 year old man was discovered wearing a white bathrobe lying in a pool of blood, it has been reported that a ten centimeter knife was discovered close to the body.
There was no sign of a struggle in the room and none of the man’s personal belongings had been stolen leading the police to believe the man may have taken his own life.
Hotel staff say that the man checked in on Wednesday afternoon and was due to leave on Friday. When the man did not check out on time one staff member put a call through to his room that went unanswered as did her knocks to his door later on.
Police say they will examine CCTV to see if anybody else entered the man’s room and search for any other clues as to what might have happened to him. Authorities are working with the Polish embassy to try to contact the man’s relatives.
In the meantime a 60 year old Chinese man died while snorkeling off the coast of Pattaya on Friday and a 75 year old retired British pilot was found dead at his apartment in South Pattaya, a 35 year old woman who said she visited the man regularly when he wife was not there said the man had taken a Viagra tablet prior to expiring.
