Poppy Appeal 2014- Koh Samui & Surrounding Islands

2014 marks the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1, a conflict in which hundreds of thousands of British & Commonwealth forces and civilians lost their lives. The British ex service community are busy this week distributing Poppy boxes around the archipelago ahead of the official start of Remembrancetide which this year commences on Sun 26 Oct 14 until Sun 09 Nov 14 (Remembrance Sunday). The boxes will remain in place until after the 11th November (Armistice Day). A Remembrance Service is planned for Remembrance Sunday, details of which will be published later.
The generous support of the resident community for the poppy appeal each year is very much appreciated.

Note from the Editor
In previous years it has been noted that some people living in remote parts of Thailand have voiced concern online to the effect that they are unable to find poppies locally. If anyone is in that position this year they’re welcome to email the group via samuiexservicemen@gmail.com
