Prachuap: Hospital calls for urine tests for staff in wake of ICU drug drama

The director of Prachuapkhirikhan Hospital has said that staff will be urine tested for drugs and other measures will be carried out after narcotics were found stashed in a locker in ICU.

The drugs were part of a haul of Ya Ba, ice and ganja worth 10 million baht belonging to twenty nine year old nurse Duangkamon Phisutsiang and her thirty six year old boyfriend.
Four million baht in assets of the pair was also seized.
Dr Supachai Suphapriksakun quickly issued a letter to the governor of the province informing of the hospital’s decision to sack the nurse and implement a full investigation.
As part of that the 700 staff of the hospital face urine tests.
Dr Suphachai said it was not necessary to test everyone but that a target group would be tested along with a review of procedures and security personnel.
Nurse Duangkamol and her husband are in custody.
NewTV showed pictures of investigators at their flat for nurses at the hospital looking for more evidence.
