Prepare for delays as runway closure will affect flights at Don Mueang January 29 to Feb 1st

The chief of Bangkok’s second largest airport Don Mueang has warned the traveling public to expect delays as he announced a partial closure of a runway.
A 150 meter section of the western runway (21R/03L) will be closed from 12.01 am on January 29th until 23.59 pm on February 1st.

Resurfacing work will mean that this runway will only be used for takeoff not landing as its operational capacity will be reduced from 3,700 meters to just 3,000 meters.
Runway 21L/03R will be used instead but capacity at the airport meant that delays during some periods will be inevitable.
Sirot Duangrat said that the measures were necessary to ensure safety and assured the traveling public that delays will be kept to the minimum possible.
