More protests in Nakhon Si Thammarat, this time over education fees

More than one hundred students from the Chalermkamchana College in Nakhon St Thammarat used a car to block the only entrance to the college and staged a demonstration in protest against the cost of education fees.
The students said that they found the tuition fees of eight hundred baht per credit and the general fee of five thousand baht per semester acceptable, what they do not accept are the other expenses such as the annual five thousand baht fee that is collected in addition to the per semester fee, they also do not a agree with the education related fee of three thousand baht that is charged without any real explanation as to what it covers.
The students would also like to see the language laboratory fee revoked for the simple reason that no such laboratory exists.
The protest began on Saturday, the college sent negotiators to talk to the protestors but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation, and this prompted the students to blockade the college access road.
The students have threatened to rally unless the college bursar agrees to meet them for talks.
