RC helicopter makes a drugs drop into a prison

On the 9th of February a remote controlled helicopter hovered about the KhonKean Central Prison, as it readied itself to deliver a packet of narcotics.
Mr. Wuttichai enwiriykul, the prisons director said that this trick had been tried once before in January but the prison officers managed to chase the helicopters operator away. However he turned up again on Sunday and successfully dropped the packet from the drone into the prison, but the officers intercepted it as soon as it was dropped.
The package contained 4 grams of crystal meth along with other prohibited items. The remote controlled helicopter was recovered from a canal around 150 meters away from the prison. After the drop 3,000 inmates and all areas of the prison were searched. The search uncovered nine mobile phones, eight sim cards, one memory card, three battery chargers, four sets of earphones and as many as twenty sharpened metal sticks, none of the inmates admitted to owning any of the goods found.
The Mueang Khonkaen police are now investigating the incident.
