Relatives of Korean who died in try dive off Phuket insist no autopsy

36-year-old Hyunju Ahn died during a try dive at Koh Hae last Tuesday and police were waiting for doctors to confirm the true cause of death as it was initially reported that no water was found in her lungs. (See story here)
Pol Cpt Wuttiwat Liangboonjinda today (Nov 23) told The Phuket News, that Ms Hyunju’s relatives had told police not to allow doctors to conduct an autopsy.
“The victim’s son-in-law and husband were there at the time of the accident and they understand that it was her decision to do the try dive,” Cpt Wuttiwat said.”
“Her son-in-law explained the accident to her relatives and they seemed to understand the cause of her death and decided that doctors should not conduct an autopsy,” he added.
The Korean consulate has confirmed that Ms Hyunju’s body was repatriated to her home country on Saturday (Nov 20).
