Isara Pangchan, Resort Manager of Kanda Residences, is delighted to announce the appointment of Christopher Pierre as executive chef of RockPool, the resort’s iconic, beachfront restaurant.

Pierre is Swiss-born, a native of Seychelles and a rising culinary star. He shares a deep passion for classic French cuisine but admits to a strong Asian influence in his cooking. This combination of interests and skills blends perfectly with RockPool’s menu of Thai and European speciality cuisine.

rockpool chefChef Pierre’s experience has taken him from his home in Seychelles where he worked at both Banyan Tree and Constance Resorts to Dubai where he worked with the Jumeirah group to a two-year tour in Thailand where he gained culinary experience in opening leading resorts in Pranburi and also on Koh Samui.

Pierre expresses his love of authentic taste, “RockPool is my ideal restaurant,” he says, “it is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Thailand and serves exceptional cuisine, each dish exhibiting a local flavor utilizing only the freshest ingredients.”

Isara Pangchan, commenting on Pierre’s appointment, says, “Chef Pierre’s vision is to drive RockPool to even greater culinary heights with a focus on the intensity of flavors found in local ingredients. He believes in bringing his own magic to each dish, be it a Thai or European classic.” Pangchan continues, “Pierre understands the Thai work ethic and has expressed great leadership and training skills. He is a great addition to the RockPool and Kanda Residences Samui teams.”

RockPool, Kanda Residences iconic beachfront restaurant, offers an enchanting culinary experience on a spectacular terrace overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Exceptional seafood, tapas and Thai regional delicacies are signatures of RockPool’s menu.
