Road Chaos around Thailand

The police have arrested the manic driver of a truck on Sunday after his erratic and dangerous driving was caught on camera and swept social media sites. Angkook Buathong, 27, told the police that he swerved recklessly to drive another truck off the road when he saw that the driver of that vehicle was brandishing a weapon.
Elsewhere in Pathum Thani Province a Toyota truck virtually disintegrated after slamming into a utility post killing the driver, Praiwan Jantah, a thirty year old man from Mae Hong Son, the speedometer was found among the wreckage that suggested he was driving at 150kph.
In Phuket a man decided to take his Toyota Yaris for a spin on the beach, only fifteen days after it left the showroom, he said he wanted to enjoy the sunset, however when he came to leave he discovered that the vehicle was stuck in a hole. After accelerating wildly to get out of the sticky situation his overheated tyres caught fire and set light to his new car, by the time fire fighter arrived the car was already engulfed in flames.
In a separate incident in Phuket a woman stands accused of using her mobile phone while driving and smashing into a motorbike on the evening of March 3rd. Both the car and the motorbike ended up in a deep roadside ditch, killing the motorbike rider. Police arrived quickly at the scene to break up onlookers who were ready to display their anger towards the driver of the car who emerged with her mobile phone to her ear.
Witnesses told police that the car and the motorbike were coming the same way, from Pa Khlok heading west. The car, travelling at speed, slammed into the back of the bike then, out of control, dragged it and Mr Panthep 100 metres across the opposing lane and into the ditch.
Ms Trisukon climbed out of the wreck with her phone to her ear, mightily offending friends and relatives of the dead man, who accused her of using her phone while driving, causing the accident.
As they gathered to attack her, police arrived and managed to control the situation.
Pol Lt Chatree Chuwichian from Thalang Police Station told The Phuket News, “The woman is now in Mission Hospital because she has a stomach injury. The doctor said she had to stay there overnight.
“When she has recovered, we will charge her with careless driving causing death.”
