Rogue monk nabbed: The only thing that wasn’t orange was his urine – that was purple

A monk high on Ya Ba caught racing across the north last night was apprehended in his orange robes at a checkpoint.
A check of his monk’s satchel found further orange evidence. Cops found four Ya Ba amphetamines of that same colour.
So the police gave him a urine test – not surprisingly that was not orange. The test revealed the tell-tale purple colour indicating he had taken drugs, reports Manager Online.
Ban Wiang Nong Long police in Lamphun arrested Phra Chainarong Srithanon, 28, at a checkpoint in the middle of the night. He was driving a Toyota Freerunner pick-up at speed.
Chainarong admitted taking drugs and said he was on his way to see a mate in Ban Hong. He said he was a monk attached to the temple of Wat Khamnet Jorm Thong in Chiang Mai.
But he is a monk no more. Following the purple result he was immediately taken for defrocking at Wat Rong Than nearby and then detained by police for prosecution.
