Russian Tourist Reported Missing on Koh Samui

A Russian tourist with memory loss is reportedly missing from her family on the island of Samui.
Inna Obukhova, 39, was last seen at Centra Coconut Resort Samui on April 21, a receptionist at the hotel said Tuesday. She’s said to be suffering from amnesia and could not speak any English.
“She went off on her own,” the receptionist, who gave her name as Lek, said by phone. “Her father is still at the hotel to wait for news about her.”
She added that the tourist’s family has alerted police and that investigators were questioning hotel staff earlier today.
However, the officer in charge of the local police station said he’s not aware about any missing Russian.
“It’s normal for tourists to get lost from each other when they travel, because there are many islands here,” Col. Chanaworasin Supanarak of Bophut Police Station said.
He also casted doubt on the story, because he said the Russian embassy has yet to inform him about any missing national.
“Usually the embassy would let me know if anything comes up,” Chanaworasin said. “I only listen to the embassy.”
Obukhova is described as a 174 centimeter-tall woman with lean feature and blonde hair. Those with information about her are urged to contact 080-892-8548.
