Samui braces for Chinese tourist invasion for National Day this weekend

Tourism officials in Koh Samui said that Chinese people would be visiting the island in droves over the next seven days around the National Day of October 1st.
Hotel bookings were up on the same period last year and restaurants were busy preparing a mountain of seafood, popular with the Asian visitors.
Nongyao Jirandorn, a Koh Samui tourism representative for the TAT said that the influx of Chinese visitors over the seven days around the national holiday would bring in 500 million baht to the holiday island.
Apart from restaurants and hotels, diving companies and operators offering sea excursions were among those who would benefit.
