Search continues for Korean man missing from Phuket | Samui Times

A local search and rescue team were yesterday (June 30) continuing to search for a missing Korean man who went wondering into the searchsea at Patong Beach with his girlfriend late on Tuesday night (June 28) following an argument which is believed to have started at the resort at which they were staying.

The body of the girlfriend, named by police as 27-year-old Hong Garam, was found washed up at the north end of Patong Beach yesterday morning (June 29). (See story here.)

Chief of Patong Police Col Chaiwat Uykam said that the team searching for 28-year-old Park Siwoo comprised of beach lifeguards and officers from the Tourist Police, Marine Police and Patong Police.

“The team are searching for Mr Park along Patong Beach and other areas. However, the search today has been hampered by the weather condition. The waves are close to two metres high which means a boat cannot go out and assist with the search.
